Christmas
Yeah! Christmas is almost here. We are mostly done with our shopping and our wrapping! We spent Thursday wrapping gifts and then equaling out the gifts for Layla and Keira. Friday was our staff Christmas party-lots of fun and good times!!! Tonight the girls are doing our church Christmas play and Layla was so excited she could hardly stand it. She's going to have a lot of people in the audience watching her so hopefully she doesn't get too nervous. We're going to try to have our gift exchange with Aubrey and Wyatt this week so they will be excited for that and then on Thursday we are going to the pj story time at the library where Santa will be there!

Things that make you say UGH!!!
So, Thursday night as I was leaving the house for dinner I smashed 3 of my very cold fingers in the van door! Of course it didn't feel good! I went to Michigan over the weekend. Stayed at one hotel Thursday and Friday and then a different hotel (same chain, different city) on Saturday. As I'm getting ready to go to bed for the night I pull out the sheets and feel a wet spot. Since it had been snowing all weekend I didn't at first think anything of it-that is until I looked at the sheet. There was a brown, wet stain. It was blood!! Gross!!!! I immediately get on the phone with housekeeping to get new sheets as my sister-in-law Ann looks to see why it is wet. She lifted up the corner of the matress and someone had shoved a wet, bloody washcloth between the matress and the box springs. Needless to say they moved us to a new room right away. As any of you who know me know, I absolutely HATE HATE HATE blood. Funny thing is, the sink in the new room (right next to the old room) was stopped up which Ann quickly got unclogged but then the alarm clock in the room on the other side started going off. We had to call housekeeping again to go shut it off. Best of all this all happened around midnight!!!

Ramblings
Hi all. Can you tell I really suck at blogging? LOL! Been on vacation this week. Just hanging out at home doing nothing, haven't even wrapped any presents. It was easier when the girls were little, now they follow me! I have no idea when we will get to wrap anything! Going to Michigan this weekend to hopefully finish the Christmas shopping!!! Layla had her secret santa workshop at school this week and also got new snow boots, she hasn't worn them outside yet but she wore them all over the house when she got them so of course Keira had to wear hers too. 2 little girls walking around in snow boots and dress up cloths, hilarious! I should have taken a pic but hindsight and all! Hope all is well with all of you!

Firsts
Hi all. Sorry I have been so bad at this. Just been so busy I have barely had a chance to check my mail much less blog. I helped my Mom plan the Harvest Carnival for our church last week and while it was a lot of fun it was even more work! So, anyways-to the firsts. Layla, Keira and I all had a week of firsts. I voted in a presidential (or any) election for the first time, Layla had her first speech class and Keira went poopy on the big girl potty for the first time! Yeah!!! Her reward was a Thomas the Tank Engine track and train. Layla really enjoyed her speech class and the therapist said she can already see signs of improvement. Hope this finds you all well. I will be going to Shipshewana this weekend and we leave early (UGH) next Friday for Tennessee!

Sweet 16
Just wanted to drop a quick post to let everyone know that today is my baby sister's 16th birthday! She's growing up so fast. I still remember the day we brought her home from the hosptial. She was so tiny and red. Now she's 16 and a sophomore in high school, time flies! Were celebrating with a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese tonight. Just family and a few close friends.

Pumpkin Patch
Hi all. We went to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. I think a good time was had by all. It's about a 30 minute drive down there and then we stayed for a couple of hours. There was a large group of us this time. Us and lots of friends-Sean, Kristy, Hailey, Kevin, Erin, Ali and Tanner. Kristy and Kevins dad Jim and his wife Julie joined us for a little while. Poor Tanner, he was the only boy! The kids (except Keira) had a blast playing on the large straw pile. They enjoyed climbing all the way to the top. Then they got to play on the play equipment for a little while. After that we all rode on the hay wagon back to the pumpkin patch! With 5 under 5 we were looking for "baby" pumpkins, we found some of decent smallness and then rode back to the front. The ride to the patch was much more comfortable but it was still fun. After that we let everyone ride a pony. Keira was hesitant at first but after she saw everyone else do it she was willing to try and had a good time. Next they did the pumpkin train, Keira and Ali both chickened out on this one. After that we went up to the nursery and they all got to pick out a very tiny pumkin and ghourd. Next we watched the pumpkin sling shot and last but not least we went and saw the baby sheep and bunny rabbits. All in all it was a very good day, no major break downs which in itself is pretty remarkable with all the small kids. The only low point was that when we got home we realized that Keira had left her tiny pumpkin and ghourd at the patch somewhere. I guess she just wanted to make some other little kid as happy as her!

Let the Adventure Begin!!!
Hi all! This is my first time "blogging" so bear with me. I decided to create this so that any of you who want to know what is going on in our lives can just log into our blog and see. So-Here we go. Layla started her second year of preschool a few weeks ago. She loves it just as much this year as last. She has the same teacher and she just adores her. She has quickly made new friends there, especially a little girl named Emma. She has also made a BFF at church named McKenzie (sp). They are inseparable when they are together, very cute. She has also started back at gymnastics after the summer off, she enjoys it a lot and we are thinking of enrolling Keira at the beginning of next year. Keira has started potty training. She's doing very well at the peeing part but not so much the pooing! She now wears big girl underwear just like her big sister and thinks she is all grown up! John is still laid off, nothing new to report there. I just increased my hours at the library from 20 to 30 per week starting in 2 weeks. Not sure how well I will like it after 4.5 years but I like the $$$$! Hope you will leave us some feedback.
Peace and Love to all!!!!
